Taylor Swift is back, and Friday can't come soon enough. The superstar announced her new single, "Patient Zero," arrives on digital services Friday. Fans are already dissecting the cryptic Easter eggs she scattered around the announcement. She teased the track with a photo of herself in a black turtleneck, which Swifties immediately treated like a crime-scene clue.
It's her first single since her "Toy Story 5" track, per The Hollywood Reporter. The timing is no accident: the release lands just ahead of her appearance at the 2026 MTV VMAs. Translation: expect a very loud weekend on the internet, and possibly on the VMAs stage.
