Madonna owned Sunday night's MTV VMAs, sweeping seven Moon Persons — including Artist of the Year for Confessions — out of 13 nominations, per Us Weekly. Seven. And the 68-year-old Queen of Pop hit the stage for the first time in 23 years, opening the Snoop Dogg-hosted ceremony alongside Sabrina Carpenter and Charli xcx.

The haul echoes her 1998 Ray of Light run, when she last dominated the show, Deadline notes. She wasn't the only headline, either. Fellow top nominee Taylor Swift took home a special honor, per ExtraTV, capping a night the internet will replay all week.
