Lionel Richie, 77, abandoned the opening night of his joint tour with Earth, Wind & Fire on Wednesday. He felt dizzy onstage in St. Paul, Minnesota. The singer stopped after about an hour, Rolling Stone reports. Video shows him falling ill during "Dancing on the Ceiling" before ending the show early, according to TMZ.

It was supposed to be a celebratory kickoff for the legacy artist and "American Idol" judge. Per Deadline, Richie left the stage mid-performance. No further details on his condition have been confirmed. Fans are watching to see whether upcoming tour dates proceed as scheduled.
