Robert De Niro marked the 25th anniversary of 9/11 with a call for unity, urging Mamdani to be a "bridge" for New York City, per The Hollywood Reporter. The timing is no accident. A new Netflix documentary featuring the actor debuts now -- his hometown reflections, front and center.
The remembrance stretched across media, too. Diane Sawyer and David Muir revisited the day they reported the tragedy live on air, telling Vanity Fair about 25 years spent with its survivors — and the hope they found along the way. A quarter century on, the stars' message was the same: New York endures, together.
