Eva Marie Saint, the Oscar-winning star of "On the Waterfront" and Hitchcock's "North by Northwest," has died at 102. Per People, the actress died of natural causes at her Los Angeles home. She was the oldest living Oscar winner. Her death closes a chapter on Hollywood's Golden Age.

Saint won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for "On the Waterfront." She went on to star opposite generations of classic leading men, as Vanity Fair notes in its remembrance. Expect the tributes to be wall-to-wall: few careers spanned so many eras of moviemaking, and few stars wore their legend so lightly.
